Nuyts Wilderness 2005

Nuyts Wilderness lies in the Walpole-Nornalup National Park in the southwest of Western Australia and is the only declared wilderness area in Western Australia.

These images are from a long-weekend walk in the area with Andrew Duffield in September 2005. Unfortunately much of the Nuyts Wilderness was burnt out following a lightning strike in 2001 and this well-watered coastal heath is taking a surprisingly long time to recover.
